What can a natural skin routine do for your health?
With more and more people using organic food and makeup, and
turning to raw food diet, it would seem that they have started to abandon their
old ways and turned to Mother Nature instead. Although many people see this
just as another fashion trend, actually it should not come as a surprise,
though, since there are more allergies than before and people became intolerant
to certain synthetic ingredients. But you don’t have to be sensitive or
allergic to turn to nature and its ways; natural skin routine offers a lot and
here is what it can do for you.
Coconut oil for your body
Instead of using overpriced products filled with synthetic
chemicals, why not opt for pure old coconut oil instead? It is full of incredibly
healthy and beneficial natural ingredients which do wonders for our skin (and
hair too). When applied to the skin it makes it smooth to the touch due to
fatty acids, and also keeps it moisturized for a long time. In addition, when
it’s used regularly, these fats get deposited under the skin, keeping it smooth
and filling pores, thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles. This means less
wrinkles and cracks in your skin, and without using dermal fillers or any form of
plastic surgery too.
For allergies and sensitive eyes
It is difficult enough to live with allergies, but it becomes a
nightmare when you have to choose makeup and skincare products. Not only should
you look for something that covers blemishes and redness, but ingredients
should not irritate your skin further. This is particularly important when it
comes to delicate skin around the eyes and redness on your cheeks. Make face
masks using soothing ingredients such as raw honey, milk, and eggs, and for
eyes use natural and organic eye shadow which will not cause
redness and irritation. To remove makeup, use only coconut oil and soft cotton
pads, and not soaps and artificial cleansers.
Coffee and cinnamon scrub
While it may seem a bit yucky to use wet coffee you had in the
morning for your skin routine, making your own face and body scrubs
with coffee and other natural ingredients is a great solution. Not
only will coffee grounds cleanse and exfoliate your skin, but salt, sugar,
cinnamon, and different oils added to the mixture will leave your skin
nourished and moisturized. Don’t forget one more important thing: by using
coffee for our skin routine, you will add caffeine to your system, and we all
know just how beneficial it is for both our bodies and minds.
Eat and drink your way to health
This may sound less important, but drinking plenty of water
will do wonders for your skin and overall complexion. Less sodas and
artificially sweetened drinks will result in glowing skin within three weeks.
What is more, you can make your own flavoured water, and instead of drinking
several cups of coffee per day you can try drinking green or white tea with
lemon. These small changes will speed up your metabolism and boost your
immunity too, so your allergies will be kept under control and you will feel
refreshed and energized every morning.

Sometimes it is good to use a bit of chemistry in your life
(admit it, you cannot imagine washing your hair with baking soda alone, can
you?), but in general you should remember that skin is the biggest organ you
have. It absorbs whatever you apply on, so you should probably do your best to
use gentle and natural products to ensure that our skin will stay young and
healthy for a long time.
I love these ideas! Deffo want to try out some coconut oil for my hair especially! Do you have any brands you'd recommend? X

Thanks a lot! The brand isn't that important (although I personally use Nutiva), just buy virgin, unrefined, cold-pressed and organic.
